Fisherate Postern Tower “Open Days” have now completed for the 2018 Season. The next “open day” for the tower will be the start of the 2019 Season at York Residents Festival weekend on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th January 2019. Watch this space for more details of the 2019 open days.
Over the closed winter months we will be progressing our plans to install electricity services into the tower and this will result in some internal and external trench digging for the cable. An archaeological watch will take place during the dig and any interesting finds will be displayed at a later date. There may be the opportunity (subject to H&S restrictions) to have a special additional “open day” during the time the archaeological work is taking place. Details tba.
We continue to work towards a full electrical installation within the tower and this still requires detailed design and funding. Our JustGiving page is still open if you wish to contribute anything towards this project.
